The gays and lesbians in Berlin not just love to party, they also are a visible part of it all and their events have become an essential part of the city's festival calendar.
Most well-known is Berlin's "Gay Pride Week" which takes place in the end of June every summer.

At the Gay-Lesbian park festival at the open air cinema in Volkspark Friedrichshain, a wide cultural programme, information booths and lots of bands provide a great atmosphere. In 1998 the festival took place for the first time and since than has been established as "Festival for all".

200 Years of Gay History - Permanent Exhibition
The permanent exhibition is a insightful documentation of gay history between 1790 and 1990. Many pictures, paintings or sculptures illustrate the struggling development of a gay consciousness and a gay pride.
